Testing adult electric scooters for review

The best 9 adult electric scooters in the UK for Winter 2026

Mar 13, 2026Richard Beech

Our testers have reviewed many e-scooters throughout the years, and yes, they all have their particular benefits and drawbacks. So to make it easier for you to decide which one fits your needs better, we have curated a list of the best ones for different needs and uses.

Some of the aspects in which these e-scooters have been rated are: price, performance, comfort, build quality, safety, handling and practicality. The models we recommend are:

Todimart T3 - £179.99

There aren't a great deal of scooters available at a sub £200 price point, and generally - those that are, well... they tend to be unreliable and underpowered.

But the Todimart T3 really does seem to be a £300-standard scooter for the price of £179.99: it's cheap but solid.

It is lightweight and slim, making it perfectly portable if you live upstairs in an apartment building. It has a 350W motor that can get you up to speeds of 15.5mph. This scooter is however notably slower when carrying riders over 70kg.

To be so lightweight this scooter does not include elements such as suspension or large wheels and comes with 8.5” solid tyres.

But overall, this is a steal for the price. Good brakes, good acceleration, and a fairly smooth ride, all for £179.99. Not bad!

iScooter i9 - £209.99

The iScooter i9 combines a powerful 350W motor with a stylish design, perfect for navigating city streets with ease and flair. It reaches speeds of up to 15.5 mph for up to 18.6 miles, making it ideal for both commuting and relaxing rides.

This scooter is very lightweight at only 12kg, and takes only three seconds to fold, making it super easy to transport and store it away. The impressive headlight, taillights, and flashing taillights that accompany the brakes provide great visibility and safety at night.

The i9 is another scooter that won’t make a big dent on your wallet, while still being reliable and functional to commute or take a leisurely ride.

AOVOPRO AV01 - £219.00

The AOVOPRO AV01 has a lightweight design, ideal for navigating city streets with ease. It features a powerful 350W motor that propels you up to speeds of 15.5mph (25km/h), making it suitable for both short commutes and leisurely rides.

Its practical folding mechanism, allowing you to collapse it effortlessly into a compact size. This makes it convenient to store in small apartments or carry on public transport, akin to the ease of folding a high-end suitcase.

Weighing only 13.5kg, the AOVOPRO AV01 is easy to lift and maneuver. In terms of safety, the AOVOPRO AV01 is equipped with a bright LED headlight and rear brake lights, making it safe to ride at night.

A key feature of the AV01 is its 8.5” solid tyres that absorb shock and grip well on the go without fear of puncture. The scooter also includes a user-friendly app for tracking mileage, battery life, and enabling cruise control.

The AOVOPRO AV01 Electric Scooter is an excellent choice for those keeping an eye on their budget.

Cocomila V10 Pro - £249.99

The Cocomila V10 Pro comes with a 500W motor that can get you up to speeds of 15.5mph for up to 25miles.

The lighting system is really a standout feature of this e-scooter. When you are riding on urban roads at night it is important to feel like you can not only see, but be seen by other road users. The V10 Pro not only has a bright headlight and taillights but lights all along the deck of the scooter.

The 10” tyres compensate for the lack of suspension as they absorb any bumps in uneven pavement or road and make for a smooth ride.

RCB R19 -  £251.99

This RCB scooter comes with a 400W motor and a 10.4Ah battery that offers a range of up to 20miles. It can reach speeds of up to 15.5mph.

I was impressed with the performance and handling of the R19. The 10” tyres made this scooter feel nicely planted to the road and offered better control than smaller wheels. The addition of shock absorbers in the front fork means that any bumps or dips in the road are absorbed through the scooter, making longer journeys easier on your wrists. I found the wide deck to be fairly grippy and wide enough to get a good stance.

This scooter is a good, affordable choice for commuters as it has enough range to get you to and from work and it is moderately lightweight weighing in at 16kg. As a 5”7 woman of reasonable strength I could carry this upstairs, be that in an apartment building or at work.

Engwe Y10 - £400.00

The standout feature of the Engwe Y10 has to be the range. The Y10 is built to take you further: the 350W motor and the 36V13AH lithium-ion battery work together to give you up to 40miles of range!

I also really enjoyed the handling of this scooter, the 10”x3” tyres offering improved control and an enhanced sense of feeling nicely planted to the road. The large tyres also help to absorb some of the bumps and dips that may be in the road, although I found that the lack of suspension can be tough on your wrists during long journeys.

The drum brakes also offer good and safe stopping in all weather conditions because they are nicely concealed within the wheels themselves. It also comes with front and rear lights as well as turn signals, which keep you safe on the road by making sure that other road users can see you and know your next move.

JOYOR Y6S - £499.99

The JOYOR Y6S is perhaps the best value-for-money scooter on the list. It is almost double the power of many of the other e-scooters on this list with a 500W motor. The 10” off-road tyres make it a brilliant all round scooter suited to multi-terrain be that commuting or weekend adventures.

As well as being powerful this scooter also feels super safe and comfortable. Dual hydraulic brakes make sure you stop when you want to stop and dual shock absorbers make it a smooth ride even when there are bumps and dips in the road.

This is a fairly heavy scooter weighing in at 23kg but with all of these features that is to be expected and it is not so heavy that it cannot be lifted into the boot of a car, though some may find it more difficult to carry it up stairs.

Pure Air4 Pro Boost £569.00

The Pure Air⁴ Pro Boost is built with a powerful 900W maximum power motor and a  top speed of 18.6mph. This powerful motor means that this e-scooter has impressive speedy acceleration as well as the ability to handle hills. Pure claim that it also has a range of up to 25 miles on one charge which is also pretty impressive but this of course depends on rider weight as well as the speed at which you ride at.

Pure have made a scooter that is intuitive in its performance. I really liked their unique steering stabilisation technology which steadied the scooter when it hit bumps or dips in the road as it reduced any unwanted turning of the front wheel.

The foot desk was also nice and wide and it is rubber so it is also super grippy! This, the drum brakes, and the handlebar indicators all made this scooter feel very safe when I was out.

This scooter does not come with suspension but the large 10” tyres do a good job of absorbing imperfections in the road.

Pure Flex - £899.00

This is perhaps the most innovative scooter on the market. Pure have reimagined the folding electric scooter to make it more compact when it is folded away. Unlike regular scooters which fold once at the base of the neck, the Flex folds twice: once more in the middle of the deck. The foot plates and handlebars also fold away and this design means that when it is folded it is half as long as folded e-scooters usually are.

This design does mean that the standing deck is not like it is on other scooters, it is only two foot plated either side of the main body. This definitely takes some getting used to if you're like me and you're used to riding a ‘conventional’ style scooter but once you do it can feel more stable to have your feet slightly apart while you ride. The foot plates do also have turn signals so these, in combination with the turn signals on the handlebars, and the front and rear lights, make sure that other road users can see you and know your movements on the road.

It is super convenient to store at home or pop under a desk at work or under a table at the pub because it is just so compact!

Design features aside, this e-scooter comes with a 710W motor that can get you up to speeds of 15.5mph. While Pure do claim a range of up to 52km I would say that this is probably closer to 30km if you are riding at full speed with all of the lights on. I am 64kg so this may also change depending on your weight.
